United Nations - UniHaitiThe International University Center Haiti (Uni Haiti) reflects the James Jay Dudley Luce Foundation’s commitment to assisting in the completion of the U.N. Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) authored by Dr. Jeffrey Sachs at Columbia University’s Earth Institute. In addition, Uni Center mirrors the Foundation’s adherence to the Earth Charter supported by Steve Rockefeller. The Earth Charter is an international declaration of fundamental values and principles to build a just, sustainable, and peaceful global society in the 21st century.
Finally, Uni Center operates, like the Foundation, by Rotary International’s “Four Way Test.”

In addition, The International University Center Haiti is a signatory to United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), the global initiative launched by U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon on November 10, 2010 in an effort to align higher education institutions with active support, collaborations, and partnerships focusing on ten universally accepted principles embodying equity in educational opportunity, global citizenship, sustainability, the eradication of poverty through education, and the promotion of inter-cultural dialogue – the unlearning of intolerance.

Over 600 international universities, colleges, and institutions dedicated to higher education have signed onto UNAI. The International University Center of Haiti (UNI Haiti) seeks to advance the UNAI principles through a commitment to educating and empowering the Haitian community inter-generationally to work towards a future Haiti created in their own voice and image. With the partnering and collaboration of academia and the larger NGO community, UNI Haiti strives towards attaining educational equity; sustainability; eradicating the constraints of poverty; and creating of the next generation of the Haitian global citizen.
